DEHUMIDIFICATION SYSTEMS

Dehumidification systems are used for the short- and long-term storage of armament and military equipment in order to maintain technical and operational efficiency, and for the protection of machines, equipment and materials against harmful effects of humid air.

Application of dehumidifiers helps to:

  • reduce atmospheric corrosion of metals,
  • reduce failure frequency of electronics and optics,
  • reduce non-metal and protective coating ageing,
  • reduce mould growth.

The system design depends on the User's individual demands.

WZU Nr 2 offers the following dehumidification methods:

  1. Method of dehumidifying the inside of the equipment: used for equipment easily sealed, stored indoors or in parking areas protected against precipitation. Dehumidified air is forced into the inside of the combat equipment (protection of the inside of vehicles or aircraft exclusively).
    Advantages:
    • Short period from storage to using (about 10-20 minutes),
    • Full availability for operations without de-lubrication,
    • Limiting the scope and labor consumption of inspections during storage.
  2. Method of dehumidifying the inside of the storehouses used for sophisticated equipment furnished with a lot of electronics and not easily sealed and for storehouses of warfare agents, means of communication, armament, uniforms, medical means, etc. Dehumidifiers, depending on the demand, are situated outside or inside the storage place. In order to use the method a good technical condition of the storage places is necessary.
  3. Method of dehumidifying with protective covers used to reduce the volume of the area.  Dehumidified air is forced through channels inside the protective cover.
  4. Dehumidification of a helicopter, e.g., W3, Mi8, Mi17: dehumidifier in the additional mobile housing, dehumidified air is forced through flexible conduits inside the helicopter and the engine section.
  5. Dehumidification of the 1S91M2 Reconnaissance and Guiding Station: dehumidifier is mounted inside the station, dehumidified air is forced to internal electronic blocks, external power supply 220V, 50 Hz.
